Who We Are
A warm, welcoming community of faith in the heart of West Croydon.
Our Story
West Croydon Methodist Church has been serving the local community for over 100 years. We're a diverse congregation united by our faith and commitment to loving our neighbours. Whether you're exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church home, you'll find a warm welcome here.
We believe in being present in our community — not just on Sundays, but throughout the week. From community groups to youth activities, from pastoral care to social justice initiatives, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus in West Croydon.
Our doors are open to everyone, regardless of background, belief, or circumstance. We believe that God's love is for all people, and we strive to reflect that love in everything we do.

Meet Our Minister

Reverend Richard Grocott

I have been in Ministry since 1990, ordained in 1991. This is my 7th circuit appointment, since 2011 I have been working in multi cultural ministry in London. I served for 11 years as a Methodist Mission Partner with the Methodist Church in Italy including 5 years at the English Language Methodist Church at Ponte Sant’ Angelo, Rome. I can speak Italian. I am married to Carol, who works at the District Office. We have a son named John who works as a Barrister. I come originally from the City of Chester in North West England. I have a passion for leading Gospel based worship and for the Pastoral care of my congregations. I enjoy playing my guitar during worship.
